New Nexus 7 hits UK at last, now available from Google Play

By Rik Henderson | Pocket-lint –

The new Nexus 7 has arrived in the UK with Google now offering the 16GB and 32GB Wi-Fi models on a one to two day turn around through Google Play.

Costing £199 and £239 respectively, both editions are still in stock (at the time of writing), but we expect that not to last for two long, if previous trends are anything to go by.

The new Nexus 7 features a 7.02-inch 1920 x 1200 HD IPS display with 323ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass on the front. It runs on a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, has 2GB of RAM, and is the first tablet device to come with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean pre-installed.

A 5-megapixel camera is on the rear, with a 1.2-megapixel camera on the front. And NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 are all on board.

Google claims that the Asus-built tablet's battery life lasts up to 9 hours of active use, and Qi wireless charging is built into the device.

You can get your Nexus 7 from Google Play now. It is also available from a number of key retailers, including PC World.
