A prisoner who led police on a car chase through western Sydney after escaping from a drug treatment centre has been recaptured.
Corey Chamberlain, 20, was reported missing on Tuesday afternoon when he absconded from the Parklea drug treatment centre, where he was serving time for offences including aggravated break and enter.
He was involved in a police pursuit and failed to stop after colliding with another car.
He was arrested at a house in Shalvey on Friday at 7.40pm (AEST) after police were tipped off about his location.
He has been charged with driving-related offences including driving in a dangerous manner, police pursuit under Skye’s Law – which imposes jail terms for criminals who lead police on high-speed chases – and driving while disqualified.
He is due to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Saturday.
