A nine-year-old girl has died in a dune buggy accident in the Yarra Valley east of Melbourne.
The vehicle rolled on a private property on Gibbs Road in Yarra Glen at 6:00pm yesterday.
The girl died at the scene, while an 11-year-old boy was taken to hospital.
Police say the 38-year-old driver of the buggy has been questioned by police.
“It’s a dreadful situation,” Inspector Bernie Rankin said.
“The family is very distraught, of course, and we also have another child in hospital and the driver of the dune buggy is being interviewed by police at the moment.”
