Man threatened with cleaver in Sydney (AAP) - ( 4U5TR4L14 )

A man has been threatened with a meat cleaver during an attempted robbery in Sydney’s inner west.

A 40-year-old man was walking along King Street, near Dickson Street, about 5.30am (AEST) on Sunday when a man approached him and demanded his wallet, before holding up a meat cleaver and continuing his demands for money, police say.

The alleged victim threw his wallet on the ground but then fell over, with the armed man running off without picking it up.

Police are urging anyone with information about this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
